Harbin Ice & Snow Festival, China

January 5 — February 5,

Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang province in northeast China. Every year this city hosts the festival of ice and snow. The festival was first held in 1985.

With the lapse of years, a simple festival has become an international set of activities. The main object of the festival — sculptures carved out of ice. Very beautiful in the dark, when the sculptures are illuminated with colorful lights.
